Two Week Fully Guided Trek in the Corsican Mountains
GR20 High Route Corsica
The GR20 high route of Corsica winds a beautiful route from north to south (or vice versa) through this wild and mountainous Mediterranean island. Following a high route down the spine of mountains it is one of the most challenging and rewarding long distance treks in Europe. The whole route is 180km long and with around 10,000m of ascent takes 15 days. It is also possible to divide the route in two sections with the northern part being the highest and rugged. Access is by ferry from Nice or by plane to Bastia or Calvi.
This is a strenuous and high level trek with days covering over 20km distance with 1500m ascents but is open to all fit and adventurous walkers. There are some sections where chains or fixed ropes are in place to aid security but there is no climbing as such. The GR20 is very popular and in mid summer season does become overcrowded hence the best time to go is June or Sept. Dates will be arranged as required and the cost including guiding, all accommodation, meals in huts etc dependent on the time and length of visit. For further details contact Darren now.
